PROVIDING LOCAL CONTENT INFORMATION THAT EFFECTS THE COMMUNTIES THEY SERVICE
I want to share this amazing video again because it speaks so much to the incredible sense of pride and community the Cowichan Trail Stewardship Society feels with its relationship with Municipality of North Cowichan. A special thanks to Will Arnold and Trevor Thew for working to help bring Specialized Bicycles Canada to the Cowichan Valley last fall. Almost 100 volunteers showed up to repair, rebuild and improve a local trail this past fall. In 4 hours these volunteers (so many amazing kids from Dirt Groms) did over $10,000 worth of free trail investment in one afternoon on North Cowichan public trails. Also thanks to Red Arrow Brewing for their support that day.
Thanks for your lifetime of dedication to the cycling community and local trails as well Tom Roozendaal. Special shoutout to the original trail builders who have been silently still out there past and present for over 30 years working to provide immersive experiences into the local forest, Roy, Gary, Dom, Dan,Rick, Trevor and so many more. Also a special thanks to the original CTSS of Riley, Calvin, Bruce, Kevin, Robyn and last but not least Jane.
This Wednesday I present my motion to council to ask for consideration for the Ec Dev committee to look at allowing decades of cycling on Mt Richards to still be allowed after 2024 when the trails are officially sanctioned.
We reach the climax of our island getaway in Duncan, going down ferociously on “Double D”known for it’s smoothly-groomed track & smooth, curvy berms. Careful, if you make a wrong turn, you may find yourself in Victoria accidentally sliding down the crack of “Axe Hole”! Oopsie!
